Email is no longer a digital letter travelling from outbox of the sender to the inbox of the recipient. Almost 20.5 billion emails are sent intended to land 2.5 billion email addresses, this means an average person receives 10 emails per day. Some are read while some are deleted and even spammed. Uplers partnered with Vision6 to look into some of the best performing emails to understand what made those email marketing campaigns successful.
What we found:
The emails that caught the Uplers attention didn’t do different things but did things with a different approach. A small change in the subject line here, a hint of personalization there, a dash of witty CTA copy and ‘Voila!’ the metrics showed a major positive change. Some of the common traits that was shared among the emails are those components, which even you can test in your emails also.

So, make sure you convey most in the least.
- Recognizable FROM name: Would you open an email from your uncle Davis or from sales@xyz.com? A FROM name known by your subscriber further cements the foundation of your email brand and reputation. Moreover, it is very necessary to maintain consistency of the FROM name in future interaction.
- Custom Pre-Header Text: Pre-header text can be used as an extension of the message conveyed in the subject line. This is be really helpful if majority of your subscribers are Gmail or Apple Mail (iOS and Mac) users.

- Powerful Click-to-Action button: Your subscriber has opened your mail, admired the hero image, and read the email copy. Now, it’s time to convert them into leads. Use short, actionable words to motivate your subscribers to click the CTA button.
- Unsubscribe Link and Sender Details: As per the CAN-SPAM act, email marketers have to provide an accessible unsubscribe link which initiates a hassle-free unsubscribe process. Moreover when someone opts-in an emailing list, certain countries mandate that the sender details are also included at the bottom.
